Em mais uma iniciativa do projeto Desengasgar Bebês, o Instituto Cândida Vargas (ICV), em parceria com o Serviço de Atendimento Móvel de Urgência de João Pessoa (Samu-JP), realizou, na tarde desta quarta-feira (13), um novo ciclo de palestras educativas, com demonstração prática, com foco na prevenção de incidentes com recém-nascidos e bebês. No encontro, que ocorreu nas enfermarias da maternidade, as mães e seus acompanhantes tiveram a oportunidade também de receber orientações sobre a posição correta para amamentação. 

A troca de conhecimento e experiências durante as palestras contribuiu para fortalecer os cuidados com os recém-nascidos e lactentes, garantindo um ambiente mais seguro e acolhedor para mães e seus filhos. Profissionais da maternidade, puérperas e acompanhantes participaram do encontro

 Segundo Ana Giovana, diretora Multiprofissional do ICV, o compromisso da gestão municipal é sempre proporcionar cuidado integral à saúde da mãe e do bebê. “Por isso, realizamos regularmente capacitações sobre prevenção de engasgos em bebês. Infelizmente, temos observado um aumento nos casos de engasgos fatais durante a amamentação, o que nos motiva ainda mais a destacar a importância desse momento. Valorizamos a participação não apenas das mães, mas também de seus acompanhantes, pois sabemos que juntos podemos garantir a segurança dos recém-nascidos”, disse.  

O enfermeiro do Samu, Tom Meireles, ressaltou a importância da iniciativa, que leva informações para a população para se evitar mortes de recém-nascidos e bebês por engasgo com o leite materno e até outros alimentos.

“O projeto é de extrema importância devido às ocorrências atendidas pelo Samu, onde, muitas vezes, conseguimos resolver com sucesso, mas infelizmente, em algumas situações, a falta de assistência das pessoas próximas resulta em óbito. É um projeto crucial para a comunidade e foi idealizado pela diretora Ana Giovana. Fiquei honrado por receber o convite para contribuir na redução dessas tragédias. É uma iniciativa louvável e estamos comprometidos em fazer o melhor por essas mães e, principalmente, pelos bebês”, afirmou.  

A próxima atividade do projeto está marcada para o dia 20 desse mês. Será mais uma oportunidade para fortalecer os esforços na prevenção de engasgos em bebês e garantir a segurança deles no momento da alimentação.
