Equipes de fiscalização da Secretaria de Estado de Meio Ambiente e Desenvolvimento Sustentável (Semad) realizaram, de 8 a 12/4, ações que verificaram possíveis alvos que estariam promovendo desmatamento ilegal no Triângulo Mineiro. Ao todo, os fiscais compareceram em 20 locais em Uberlândia, Araguari, Prata, Iraí de Minas, Patrocínio, Tupaciguara, Fronteira e Itapagipe.
A ação foi executada pela Coordenação de Fiscalização e Gestão de Denúncias, vinculada à Unidade Regional de Fiscalização Triângulo Mineiro (URFIS TM). Em um dos alvos, foi necessário apoio da Polícia Militar de Meio Ambiente.
“Esta operação priorizou o atendimento a denúncias de cidadãos e imagens de satélite de acompanhamento diário de alertas do Programa Brasil Mais, sendo utilizado também o banco de dados de áreas autorizadas, gerando uma fiscalização mais assertiva em áreas com desmatamento recente e irregular”, explica o coordenador de Fiscalização Mark Andrew.
As principais irregularidades constatadas foram: supressão de vegetação nativa em área comum; supressão de vegetação nativa em Reserva Legal; impedir ou dificultar a regeneração natural; e deixar de dar aproveitamento ou tornar inservível o material lenhoso.
“Ações de fiscalização como esta são de extrema relevância tendo em vista os baixos índices de cobertura vegetal nativa nos municípios fiscalizados, e ainda coíbem desmatamentos irregulares na região”, avalia Francely de Tillio, chefe da Unidade Regional de Fiscalização.
Ressalta-se que toda supressão de vegetação nativa para ser considerada regular, deve ser precedida de autorização pelo órgão ambiental competente.
Até o momento, estima-se que serão aplicadas multas que totalizam R$ 481.482,20, além das penalidades de apreensão e suspensão de atividades.
Transparência
O Governo de Minas, por meio da Semad, disponibiliza diversos canais de denúncias ambientais e conta com o apoio da sociedade para monitorar e denunciar práticas evidentes ou suspeitas de irregularidades ambientais. A denúncia ou solicitação de fiscalização ambiental pode ser feita pelo LigMinas (ligue 155 – opção 7).
