Aterro sanitário recebe licença da Cetesb para ampliar área

A Cetesb (Companhia Ambiental do estado de São Paulo) concedeu licença de instalação (LI) para a ampliação do aterro sanitário de São José dos Campos, operado pela Urbam (Urbanizadora Municipal).

Serão 111.820 m² de alteamento (elevação de área) numa primeira fase e 115.743 m² de ampliação da área de disposição de resíduos sólidos domiciliares, o que representará mais de 10 anos de vida útil. O aterro sanitário recebe uma média 570 ton/dia de resíduos domiciliares.

A Urbam realiza ações educativas diárias para conscientizar a população sobre a separação e destinação corretas dos vários tipos de resíduos. Além dos benefícios ambientais e sociais, essas ações são importantes para o aumento da vida útil do aterro sanitário.

Os materiais recicláveis devem ser separados e destinados nos dias e horários corretos da coleta seletiva, que é feita em 100% da área urbana, além do distrito de São Francisco Xavier.

Restos de obras de construção (tábuas, tijolos, telhas, tubulações, pisos), móveis e equipamentos domésticos (sofás, cadeiras, geladeiras), lâmpadas fluorescentes inteiras, restos de poda e óleo de cozinha devem ser encaminhados aos PEVs.

A Urbam retira gratuitamente equipamentos eletroeletrônicos inservíveis nas residências e conta com 55 coletores de pilhas, baterias e celulares em vários espaços públicos da cidade. É feita a retirada também pequenos animais mortos em residências e vias públicas.

Medicamentos vencidos devem ser encaminhados às farmácias ou UBSs.
