O programa Leitão Vida, uma das políticas públicas de desenvolvimento sustentável do Governo do Estado, conduzido pela Semadesc (Secretaria de Meio Ambiente, Desenvolvimento, Ciência, Tecnologia e Inovação) é o retrato de um case de sucesso da suinocultura estadual. Uma atividade forte, próspera, e que permitiu a produção de mais de 3 milhões de animais abatidos em 2023.
O programa, que conta atualmente com 274 estabelecimentos cadastrados, já repassou R$ 59 milhões aos suinocultores nos últimos quatro anos. O “Leitão Vida, Situação atual e futura”, foi tema de palestra realizada nesta terça-feira (14) pelo secretário-executivo de Desenvolvimento Econômico Sustentável, Rogério Beretta no maior evento de suinocultura de Mato Grosso do Sul, realizado pela Asumas-MS, durante a Expoagro, em Dourados.
Com debates de temas como estratégias de comunicação para alcançar o êxito na atividade suinícola, até discussões sobre sustentabilidade e liderança, o Fórum de Desenvolvimento da Suinocultura do chega a sua VI edição com a proposta de debater os desafios e oportunidades que permeiam o cenário da cadeia em Mato Grosso do Sul.
Na apresentação Beretta falou sobre o mercado de suínos no mundo e no Brasil, chegando até a produção estadual. Hoje MS é o 5° Estado do Brasil em abates e exportação de carne. “Avançamos nestes índices graças a políticas públicas do Governo do Estado que só funcionam com o apoio da cadeia produtiva. Do associativismo dos Suinocultores”, salientou.
“Na nossa frente, em volume de abates estão Minas Gerais, Rio Grande do Sul, Paraná e Santa Catarina. São estados tradicionais na produção suinícola, diferente de Mato Grosso do Sul, que não carregava essa tradição há tanto tempo. O desenvolvimento não deve parar. Até 2026 devemos somar 150 mil matrizes, isso significa um avanço significativo”, explica o presidente da Asumas e anfitrião do Fórum, Milton Bigatão.
“O crescimento da suinocultura de MS é fruto de um trabalho integrado entre todos que se uniram em prol da sustentabilidade e tecnologia. O resultado nós já estamos percebendo com as boas projeções do setor”, salientou o vice-governador do Estado, Barbosinha.
Também participaram do evento o secretário-adjunto da Semadesc, Walter Carneiro Jr; o diretor-presidente da Iagro Daniel Ingold; o coordenador de Pecuária Marivaldo Miranda e o gestor de suinocultura Rômulo Gouveia.

O secretário Rogério Beretta e o diretor da Iagro ainda participaram de uma mesa redonda com palestrantes e produtores. Daniel Ingold falou sobre a sanidade animal a atuação da Iagro e a importância do PNEFA, do aplicativo MS Transportador que auxilia a melhorar a rastreabilidade entre outros assuntos.
Já o secretário-executivo adiantou que o Leitão Vida passará por mudanças para garantir ainda mais competitividade a cadeia suinícola. “Temos que olhar o que o mercado está pedindo. Além de termos carcaças de altíssima qualidade e produção eficiente, precisamos provar que estamos aptos para atingir mercados consumidores mais exigentes. Principalmente nas questões de sustentabilidade”, finalizou Beretta.
