IBGE: São José registra menor taxa de analfabetismo da região

Dados do Censo Demográfico de 2022 mostram que São José dos Campos possui a menor taxa de analfabetismo entre as cidades da região. O IBGE (Instituto Brasileiro de Geografia e Estatística) divulgou as informações nesta sexta-feira (17).

A cidade registrou 97,86% de alfabetizados e 2,14% analfabetos. No Censo 2010, as taxas de alfabetização e analfabetismo do município eram de 97% e 3%. 

Os números superam também a média estadual, composta por 96,89% de alfabetizados e 3,11% analfabetos. O levantamento considera pessoas de 15 anos ou mais para obter as taxas. Saiba mais sobre os dados aqui. 

Segundo a equipe técnica da Secretaria de Educação e Cidadania, o resultado reconhece o trabalho conjunto dos mais de 6.000 profissionais que garantem direitos aos estudantes e ampliam o acesso ao conhecimento.

“A diferença pode parecer pequena analisando apenas a porcentagem, mas quando olhamos para os indivíduos, são mais de 2.000 pessoas que passaram a ter diversas oportunidades em suas vidas graças à alfabetização. Essa diminuição na taxa de analfabetismo é ainda mais significativa se notarmos que houve um crescimento superior a 10% na população desde o Censo de 2010″, afirma Claudia Khouri, diretora do Departamento de Ensino Fundamental da Secretaria de Educação. 

A alfabetização é uma importante fase na Educação Básica, marcando o início de infinitas possibilidades para os cidadãos. Em São José dos Campos, a Prefeitura investe em metodologias, material pedagógico e formação continuada de professores para oferecer o melhor aos mais de 80 mil estudantes, especialmente com ações de alfabetização na Educação Infantil e nos anos iniciais do Ensino Fundamental.

EJA

Quem deseja retornar aos estudos em São José dos Campos e concluir o ensino fundamental, pode se inscrever para a EJA (Educação de Jovens e Adultos) nas escolas da Prefeitura.

A modalidade é oferecida presencialmente em 10 escolas de ensino fundamental, além dos núcleos e do Ceja (Centro de Educação de Jovens e Adultos). Confira todos os endereços nesta página.

Os interessados podem se inscrever durante todo o ano letivo, porém a matrícula no início de cada semestre pode facilitar a organização da vida escolar.

As inscrições podem ser feitas presencialmente no local que oferece o segmento desejado – EJA 1 (do 1º ao 5º ano) e EJA 2 (6º ao 9º ano) – ou pelo telefone 156. É necessário ter mais de 15 anos de idade, informar o RG, endereço residencial e a última série/ano que estudou.
