Feira de adoção de pets da Prefeitura de Nova Iguaçu completa um ano com mais de 120 animais encaminhados para novos lares




Mais de 120 pets adotados em 12 edições da Feira Municipal de Adoção de Cães e Gatos, promovida pela Prefeitura de Nova Iguaçu. Este é o balanço do primeiro aniversário da ação da Assessoria Especial de Proteção Animal, órgão responsável pela organização das feiras, que completou um ano no dia 20 de maio. Para celebrar, uma nova edição será realizada neste sábado (25), no Top Shopping.

Na ocasião, 42 animais de estimação estarão disponíveis para adoção responsável, sendo 16 cães e 26 gatos. Para se tornar um tutor, o interessado deverá preencher um termo de adoção responsável no qual se compromete a oferecer os cuidados necessários ao animal. Os pets são entregues já castrados e vermifugados, com exceção dos filhotes ainda com pouca idade para passar pelo procedimento.

Estes são inseridos no serviço de castração gratuita da prefeitura – realizado em parceria com o Hospital Veterinário da Estádio – no ato da adoção. Quando chegarem na idade apropriada, eles serão castrados. Os bichinhos de estimação também sairão da feira já com a dose da vacina antirrábica.

“A Prefeitura de Nova Iguaçu, ao longo desse período de um ano, vem promovendo ações, entre elas, as feiras de adoção, com objetivo de que os animais do município, vítimas de maus tratos, abandono, e que foram resgatados possam finalmente encontrar lares amorosos e responsáveis, contribuindo também para reduzir os números de animais em via pública, em abrigos, e lares temporários”, celebra Naira Araujo, assessora especial de Proteção Animal.

No ato da adoção, os novos tutores são cadastrados e monitorados nos meses seguintes. Desta forma, é possível acompanhar a adaptação do animal ao novo lar se certificar que ele está sendo bem cuidado e levando uma vida saudável.

A ação conta com o apoio da Subsecretaria de Vigilância em Saúde, da Secretaria Municipal de Assistência Social e de protetores de animais de rua. São estes protetores parceiros que resgatam e cuidam dos animais até que eles estejam prontos para ser adotados.

O Top Shopping fica na Avenida Governador Roberto Silveira, nº 540, no Centro de Nova Iguaçu. A ação acontece das 10h às 15h.
