O governador Eduardo Riedel discutiu junto a diretoria da gigante sucroenergética Atvos, em São Paulo (SP), nesta quinta-feira (28), os investimentos realizados pela empresa em Mato Grosso do Sul e a possibilidade de ampliação da atuação da empresa no Estado. Até o momento, o investimento recente da Atvos em Mato Grosso do Sul soma cerca de R$ 1 bilhão.
Ao lado do vice-governador Barbosinha e do secretário de Desenvolvimento, Jaime Verruck, o governador Eduardo Riedel foi recebido pelo CEO da Atvos, Bruno Serapião, pelo vice-presidente da empresa, Luiz Rossato, pelo diretor de Novos Negócios, Caio Dafico, e pelo head de Relações Institucionais, João Pedro Pacheco.
“A empresa já tem investimentos em andamento em Mato Grosso do Sul, e discutimos junto à direção da empresa possibilidade de ampliação desses investimentos. Eles agora vão fazer uma avaliação da viabilidade”, explica o governador ao falar sobre o encontro.
Uma das novidades avaliadas pela direção da Atvos é a descarbonização das usinas, que devem passar a produzir ainda biogás e biometano. Segundo o secretário Jaime Verruck, estes são importantes produtos para serem incorporados à matriz energética local.
“Nossa discussão também girou em torno da área logística. A Atvos destacou a importância de Mato Grosso do Sul no investimento do grupo e a necessidade de avançarmos na logística, principalmente ferroviária, para dar maior competitividade na saída do etanol a partir de Mato Grosso do Sul. Também debatemos questões tributárias e consolidamos a participação tanto do Governo do Estado como da Atvos na próxima Expocanas”, conta Verruck.
Hoje a Atvos possui três empreendimentos em Mato Grosso do Sul: a usina Eldorado, localizada no distrito de Ipezal, em Angélica; a usina Santa Luzia, no município de Nova Alvorada do Sul; e a Unidade Agroindustrial de Costa Rica. Juntas, as usinas são responsáveis por esmagar aproximadamente 11 milhões de toneladas de cana-de-açucar por safra.
O trabalho da sucroenergética no Estado é responsável pela geração de 4 mil empregos, sendo que o investimento recente de R$ 1 bilhão já culminou no aumento de R$ 1 milhão de cana processada. O investimento foi de R$ 400 milhões para modernizar as planstas industrais sul-mato-grossenses e outros R$ 600 milhões na melhoria da produtividade da cana.
