Em apenas dois anos, o Complexo Hospitalar de Mangabeira (CHM), da Prefeitura de João Pessoa, conseguiu triplicar o número de cirurgias urológicas eletivas. No ano de 2021, o hospital registrou 121 procedimentos deste tipo, enquanto em 2023 o número foi de 372, o que corresponde a um crescimento de 207% neste período. Só este ano, já foram realizados 188 procedimentos cirúrgicos eletivos de urologia.
Para o diretor geral do CHM, Alexandre César, o aumento no número de cirurgias é resultado de um trabalho realizado por toda a equipe envolvida. “Estamos comemorando uma vitória não só do hospital, mas também da gestão do prefeito Cícero Lucena, que tem compromisso em atender, cuidar e seguir acompanhando o paciente”, afirmou.
Com a finalidade de reduzir o tempo de espera dos pacientes, nos últimos dias, o complexo hospitalar intensificou os esforços para a aumentar a quantidade de procedimentos urológicos realizados no serviço. Em 15 dias, de 26 de março até 6 de abril, o hospital realizou 80 cirurgias urológicas, ultrapassando a média de dois procedimentos deste tipo ao dia.
“O Complexo Hospitalar de Mangabeira é referência no cuidado do rim. Atendemos pacientes de toda a 1ª Macrorregião da Paraíba. Então quando um paciente tem um cálculo renal que não consegue ser expelido de forma natural, é aqui que realizamos a cirurgia. A gente operou mais de 100 pacientes que estavam aguardando pelo procedimento para que não tivessem nenhum tipo de sofrimento renal”, destacou Alexandre César.
No Serviço de Urologia do CHM, são realizados atendimentos de urgência e ambulatoriais. Entre as cirurgias urológicas realizadas com mais frequência no serviço estão: uretero + duplo J, troca de duplo J, retirada de duplo J, cistolitotomia, cistolitotripsia e ureterolitotomia aberta.
Em outubro do ano passado, a paciente Ana Paula foi diagnosticada com pedra nos rins e, há alguns dias, foi contemplada com o procedimento que tanto aguardava. “Fiquei muito feliz quando me ligaram para fazer a remoção da pedra e estou muito grata ao prefeito, à direção do hospital e a toda a equipe que me recebeu e me atendeu tão bem”, agradeceu a paciente.
CHM – É um hospital ‘porta aberta’, atendendo a casos gerais de urgência e emergência, sendo referência, principalmente, em cirurgia de áreas abaixo do cotovelo e abaixo do joelho, conforme pactuação firmada com o Ministério da Saúde.
Nos últimos anos, o Complexo Hospitalar de Mangabeira tem passado por uma série de melhorias estruturais e assistenciais. Dentre elas estão a nova estrutura do setor de urgência clínica e UTI; novos equipamentos como tomógrafo, radiografia digital, ecocardiograma e ultrassom; ampliação do Pronto Atendimento em Saúde Mental, com novos consultórios psiquiátricos, sala de triagem, novos leitos de enfermaria; reforma da cozinha e refeitório, que passou a ter uma capacidade de servir 1.500 refeições diárias, num ambiente mais acolhedor e confortável para 160 pessoas.
