O governador Eduardo Riedel recebeu na tarde desta terça-feira (16) convite dos fundadores do Great Plains Foundation – organização que atua na África com safáris personalizados, turismo sustentável e ações de preservação de vida selvagem – para conhecer uma de suas operações no continente africano, mais especificamente em Botsuana.
O convite feito pelo casal Dereck e Beverly Joubert foi entregue pelo presidente do IHP (Instituto Homem Pantaneiro), Ângelo Rabelo. O casal de sul-africanos visitou o Pantanal sul-mato-grossense no ano passado, e confirmou intenção de investir em Mato Grosso do Sul.
“A gente recebe com muita satisfação esse convite de uma organização mundialmente reconhecida pelo seu trabalho de preservação da vida selvagem, e de um turismo sustentável, e que agora volta sua atenção ao nosso Pantanal. É um bioma importantíssimo não apenas para o Mato Grosso do Sul, mas para todo o país e todo o mundo, e é uma prioridade da nossa gestão”, frisa o governador Eduardo Riedel ao comentar a perspectiva do investimento.
Presidente do IHP, Ângelo Rabelo explica que fechou parceria com o Great Plains Fundation, tendo Dereck e Beverly Joubert conhecido o Pantanal em 2023 em viagem de 10 dias. A operação do casal, reconhecido por seus documentários no National Geographic, inclusive sendo premiado, ocupa terras em cinco países: Botsuana, Quênia, Zimbábue, Namíbia e Gabão.
“Estamos com uma grande oportunidade e responsabilidade. Uma das condições para o investimento ocorrer no Pantanal é o apoio político, além do IHP potencializar as reservas”, explica Rabelo, que completa. Eles estiveram uma única vez aqui e já decidiram investir, ficaram impressionados com a preservação e biodiversidade”.
A grande quantidade de animais silvestres, especialmente pássaros, além dos cinco animais – onça, capivara, tamanduá, anta e ariranha – que mais despertam interesse de visualização pelos turistas, tornam o Pantanal o local ideal para o investimento.
Safári pantaneiro
Para receber o investimento turístico de luxo, o IHP já atua para qualificar mão de obra, incluindo áreas como atendimento, culinária, governança, liderança e gestão. “Vamos passar a ser um novo destino, cobiçado por turistas de alto padrão no mundo todo, que talvez até tivessem interesse em conhecer o Pantanal, mas por estarem acostumados com segurança e comodidades únicas, só agora vão visitar o bioma”, comenta Rabelo.
“É algo único, com conforto e voltado para a preservação. Tudo com baixo impacto e não temos que mudar nada, pois o que interessa a este público é justamente a vida selvagem, a natureza como ela é e está. Este turismo tem um modelo pioneiro, envolvendo o pantaneiro, os povos originários. No Brasil não existe nada igual”, conclui o presidente do IHP.
