Prefeito abre edição 2024 do Projeto Code, com mais de 5 mil alunos inscritos e 11 mil vagas ofertadas

“Eu pretendo chegar longe – estudando e me dedicando nesse projeto”. A afirmação é do estudante Rafael Soares Costa, da Escola Aruanda, no bairro dos Bancários – um dos mais de 5 mil alunos já inscritos na versão 2024 do Projeto Codificar para Desenvolver (Code), que teve aula inaugural neste sábado (4), com a presença do prefeito Cícero Lucena, reunindo cerca de 500 monitores. O gestor destacou que a rede municipal de ensino está oferecendo 11 mil vagas esse ano, dando oportunidade para que crianças e adolescentes possam aprender a trabalhar com desenvolvimento de software, programação e diversas áreas do mundo tecnológico.   

“A Educação do Município de João Pessoa tem essa missão de melhorar a vida das pessoas. Aqui, estamos formando, trazendo conhecimento, condições de trabalho futuro em profissões que também são do futuro, mas que o presente já começa a ser construído. Então, é só gratidão a Deus, a todos aqueles que ajudam e renovar, cada vez mais a minha esperança e minha confiança num futuro melhor para a cidade de João Pessoa”, afirmou o prefeito, durante solenidade no Centro Escolar Municipal de Atividades Pedagógicas Integrativas Arthur da Costa Freire.    

A Iniciativa Code é uma parceria da Secretaria Municipal de Educação e Cultura (Sedec) e Ciência e Tecnologia (Secitec), com apoio da Fundação de Educação e Cultura da Paraíba (Funatec) e Universidade Federal da Paraíba (UFPB). Lançada em março do ano passado, já beneficiou cerca de 6,5 mil alunos do 7°, 8° e 9° ano da rede municipal de ensino. Nessa nova versão, em 2024, o projeto está ainda mais inovador, como destacou a secretária municipal de Educação e Cultura (Sedec), América Castro.   

“O programa que tem um olhar diferenciado do nosso gestor, para que os nossos meninos tenham oportunidades diferentes na hora de buscar o emprego. A gente tem um horário pré-definido, uma carga horária, em cima de um planejamento e um projeto que foi elaborado anteriormente com as instituições parceiras – UFPB e IFPB -, onde é planejada a parte teórica, as oficinas e também as competições. A gente incentiva os meninos a elaborar e a programar ações e programas que sirvam para o dia a dia da comunidade e o dia a dia da escola”, destacou a secretária.  

Profissão do futuro – O secretário de Ciência e Tecnologia, Guido Lemos, disse que as aulas preparam os alunos para que eles possam competir com as profissões do mundo tecnológico e que pagam os melhores salários. “Despertar na cabeça desses jovens que a escola prepara eles para o mercado de trabalho. O que eles aprendem na escola vai ser utilizado num futuro próximo, numa área muito aquecida, que tem muita demanda – que é desenvolvimento de software -, pagando os melhores salários”, projetou o secretário.   

Code – O objetivo é integrar o ensino de programação de computadores nas escolas do ensino fundamental do Município de João Pessoa, para que seus estudantes possam aumentar sua competência digital como cidadãos e sejam preparados para novas demandas tecnológicas da sociedade e do mercado de trabalho.    Os conteúdos visitados criarão habilidades para a construção de programas de computador, trabalhando com a metodologia do pensamento computacional, um conceito que permite a criação de fortes bases de apoio para resolução de problemas, estímulo à aprendizagem independente e permanente.
